BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting at a gas station in Roslindale Friday night.

The shooting happened at around 9:47 p.m. Friday night at the ALFA Auto Fuel gas station in Roslindale located at 4137 Washington Street. Officers responded to the scene after getting a call about a person shot in the area.

When they arrived, they found two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was transported to a local hospital. Boston Police did not provide an update on the second victim's injuries.

Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a press conference at the scene he was concerned about ongoing gun violence in the city.

“So far this year police have pulled more than 160 illegal guns off of Boston’s streets, including five loaded handguns from juveniles just this week," Hayden said. "Now we again see the destruction guns bring, with one person dead, another wounded and bullets flying in an open-air business setting with people going about their daily routines."

No arrests have been made so far. Boston Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470 or the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS.

DA Hayden called on anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

"I urge anyone with knowledge of those involved to assist the investigation," Hayden said. "This is a societal problem that requires a societal response.”
