Police Investigating Multiple Fatal Incidents On Friday In Mass, RI

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Massachusetts and Rhode Island are investigating after several separate incidents left multiple people dead on Friday.

Lawrence

According to Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, a 25-year-old man was found dead on Friday morning at around 8:30 a.m. in the backyard of 461 Haverhill St.

The man, who has been identified as Edward Javier of Lawrence, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

New Bedford

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said police responded to a call at 6:45 p.m. on Friday outside Richdale Foods on Brock Avenue -- where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The 32-year-old man, identified as Joseph Pauline of New Bedford, was brought to a local hospital -- where he died from his injuries.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing at this time -- and no further information has been released.

South End, Boston

Boston Police said a man who was stabbed near the area of West Newton Street and Shawmut Avenue on Friday night has died.

Authorities said the incident was reported just after 8:30 p.m. -- when the victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No further information is available at this time.

Providence, Rhode Island

Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in a car on Friday night.

Authorities said they responded to a call about shots fired at a parking lot on Pope Street at around 9 p.m., where they found the 25-year-old victim.

The investigation is ongoing -- and no arrests have been announced at this time.
