PEABODY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A 14-year-old girl who had been reported missing has been found safe and returned home, Peabody Police said.
Peabody Police Capt. Dennis Bonauito said Kamari Bunn was found along with another 14-year-old friend who was also missing.
"We're very pleased with the safe return of the two girls and the cooperative efford between the Peabody Police Department and Massachusetts State Police to bring this to a swift conclusion," Bonauito said. "However, the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of how the girls ended up leaving the city of Peabody, and what their reasoning was for apparently running away from home."
Bunn's family had reported her missing after she failed to return home from Higgins Middle School.
