Police: Man Crashes Into Front Yard In Arlington, Gets Out Swinging Knife

ARLINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Arlington Police said they arrested a man who crashed into a property in the city and brandished a knife on Tuesday.

Police said the incident happened just after 1:30 PM on Lublin Street in Arlington. The man, later identified as Rodolfo Garces of Fresno, California, allegedly crashed his sedan into the front yard of a Lublin Street home. When one of the residents got close to the car, Police said Garces hopped out brandishing a 3-inch folding knife, and ran away.

Arlington Police found Garces about 50 yards away within minutes of the crash.

The man was charged with Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of a Crash, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The house wasn't damaged and no one was injured. Garces is scheduled to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on Wednesday.
