Police: More Oily Vandalism At City Memorials

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio)— Boston Police is reporting more vandalism at the city's memorials.

This time — at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mattapan.

Police say that it appears to be some kind of oil has been thrown at a memorial dedicated to fallen Boston Police Officers.

Also vandalized are memorials for the Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I and World War II monument altars, Knights of Columbus, and Free Masons memorials.

This comes just days after the world war two memorial at castle island was found vandalized -- and hours after someone decimated dozens of Jewish gravestones with Anti-Semitic graffiti in Fall River.

Boston Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down the suspected vandals.
