WBZ NewsRadio spoke to local resident Michelle, who emphasized how important nights like this are for the community.
“I think it’s wonderful! We need this. We need bonding,” she said.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu was there too.
“It’s really nice to have an annual tradition of all coming together no matter the heat or weather and celebrating the unsung heroes within our neighborhoods.
“We’re all here to support our residents, and we’ve seen remarkable progress in Boston with record low numbers of public safety incidents and I would say, record high levels of collaboration and partnership,” Wu added.
There was something for the whole family to enjoy at the event, with free hot dogs, drinks, live music, and even a bouncy house!
