Police: Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Car In Everett

EVERETT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car and killed Friday night.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Revere Beach Parkway. A man and a woman were running across the street — against pedestrian signals — near an intersection where the light changed to green.

A car driving the right lane hit the 62-year-old male pedestrian. The woman was not hit.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have identified him as 62-year-old Francis Stamegna, of Melrose.

The 24-year-old driver stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed.
