Police: Two Arrested After Carjacking And Chase

BROCKTON, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts State Police say two teens are under arrest after an attempted car jacking and chase in Brockton Wednesday.

They say that the pair were allegedly involved in the carjacking that took place at about 11:24 a.m on North Main Street, when the driver, a 65-year-old male, reported to Brockton Police that he was punched in the face and that his car, a 2008 Lexus, was stolen.

Shortly there after around 11:42 a.m. Mass State Trooper Joshua McKelligan saw and attempted to stop the car on Route 24 southbound, north of Exit 18B in Brockton after he heard an alert from Brockton Police looking for the stolen car.

A chase started and cruisers from H-Troop joined in. At one point driving at speeds up to 100 mph on I-495 in Raynham Police say. The chase continued on local streets in Taunton and into Norton before the car rolled over near Cranberry Lane.

The two suspects, who are both 16-years old, ran off and were found, arrested and taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries from the rollover crash.

Police say that both will face criminal charges related to the incident.
