20 People Dead, 26 Injured In El Paso Shooting

EL PASO, Texas (WBZ NewsRadio) — Reports say that at least 20 people are dead and 26 injured following a shooting at a shopping center in El Paso, Texas Saturday.

Authorities responded to reports of the shooting at Cielo Vista Mall Saturday afternoon.

At least one person is in custody following the attack.

Many people were reported to be injured and are now being treated at hospitals.

El Paso Mayor Dee Margo confirmed multiple fatalities in a statement Saturday.

“Our hearts go out to the victims and gratitude to our first responders,” Margo wrote in a tweet.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh responded to the shooting on Twitter, saying “our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and the entire city.”

In the tweet, Walsh called for gun reform. “The government has the power to enact strong and sensible gun laws, preventing more of these recurring tragedies,” he wrote.
