BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The popular Shark and Ray Touch Tank returned to the New England Aquarium this week just in time for April school vacation.
While the kids may not be learning in actual school this week, they are spending time learning about schools of fish such as the wide variety of sharks and rays at the exhibit, where visitors can actually touch the animals.
“It’s really exciting to see how much love they have and how much excitement [the kids] have to get to learn about and meet the animals,” said Hannah Cutting, a Senior Aquarist at the Aquarium.
Cutting added that the animals are very communicative yet gentle with humans.
“When they sit there and let you pet them, they’re going to move away if they don’t like something [about what you’re doing], so it’s pretty cool,” she added.
For those of us who learn more visually, there is also a new film at the aquarium called “Ocean Paradise 3D” as well.
The exhibit’s return is expected to sell out, so the aquarium encourages buying tickets in advance.
