"Post-Tropical" Storm Elsa Causes Thousands To Lose Power

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) -- Forecasters have downgraded Tropical Storm Elsa to a Post-Tropical Storm, however thousands of people are without power.

On Friday, over 9,000 people had no electricity after 1 p.m., according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

Areas such as Barnstable, Mashpee, and Yarmouth were hit hardest by the power outages.

Barnstable: 3,343

Mashpee: 1,901

Yarmouth: 1,281

Bourne: 438

Mattapoisett: 320
