Pot Ice Cream From Framingham Chef Now On The Market

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — This latest weed edible is frozen, not baked. Plant Jam, a Framingham-based marijuana startup, is now distributing cannabis-infused ice cream and sorbet to local dispensaries.

Local chef and entrepreneur David Yusefzadeh had the idea for the ice cream three years ago.

Yusefzadeh said he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2011, and he turned to weed during his battle with the illness after trying several different medications while working 80-hour weeks in the restaurant industry.

Plant Jam is distributing the ice cream under its brand, Cloud Creamery, to Caroline's Cannabis in Uxbridge, Western Front in Chelsea, and Bud's Goods in Worcester.

The ice cream and sorbet comes in flavors like Tanzanian Vanilla and Yuzu Mango, and contains 5 milligrams of THC.
