BOSTON (WBZ News Radio) – A Boston auction house will be auctioning off memorabilia from the late musician Prince next week. RR Auction will be selling off everything from the artist's famous white ruffled shirt from "Purple Rain," to his guitars that Prince used on tour. The auctions are taking place on March 10.
Bobby Livingston, the executive Vice-President of RR Auction, said the pieces being sold are profoundly special.
"When you actually can see the guitar, or touch a shirt that he wore, or read the lyrics, hold them in your hand where he actually also held this in his hand... this is special, and it's emotional."
The memorabilia won't come cheap. Livingston expects the guitar to go for at least $60,000.
