BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Organizations like Project Place are helping change the lives of those struggling with addiction, homelessness, and incarceration in Boston.
The non-profit, with the help of the Allston Village organization, recently expanded its street cleaning program into Allston. The Clean Corners program helps people get back on their feet and rejoin the workforce. Alex Cornacchini of Allston Village is looking forward to the partnership with the program.
"Trying to get people back into the workforce from addiction, from incarceration. It's a great organization, a great program," said Cornacchini. "This is our first day partnering with Project Place. They are a non-profit based out of the south end. They've been in operation since the '60s. They do workforce, workforce development, training, on-the-job skills."
Participants like "Brother," are ecstatic to be a part of the program,
"Best job of the day."
Funding for the cleaning service has been approved for two years.
