BURLINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Residents protested outside of the Burlington ICE detention facility.

Jared and Laurie Berezin demonstrate outside of the facility every Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00.

They started in April with just the two of them and got more people to join them over the weeks, having a group of over 650 people on Sept. 10, making it their largest demonstration so far.

They call the movement "Bearing Witness at ICE" and Jared Berezin said it's important that they're witnesses here.

"The goal of our movement here is to see what's happening with our own eyes," Berezin said.

Carter Chamberlin, a Burlington local, wore 24 upside down American flags attached to a harness on his back, he thinks the facility gives Burlington a bad name.

"I want to make sure that everywhere I live is better when I leave it," Chamberlin said.
