CLINTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A stroll across a Massachusetts landmark in Clinton had people saying "Dam!" Sunday.
Wachusett Dam Day allows the public to walk across the top of the dam for a couple of hours twice a year, once in fall and once in spring.

Views stretch across slate gray water on one side, while the other side swoops down hundreds of feet, providing ample sight of fall foliage.
"It’s beautiful, and I’m surprised actually how colorful it is, because I thought maybe that would have all been passed with the weather we’ve had," one woman told WBZ NewsRadio.
"It’s very exciting, it’s cool," another woman said. "It’s a different view, like, even though you can see everything from other spots, it’s different, so I like it. It’s very cool."
The walkway was originally closed to the public in the 1990s for safety and security reasons, but once Dam Day started in the mid-2000s, thousands have flocked to the impressive structure to climb on top and put one foot in front of the other.
"I have never been across the dam, this is my first Dam Day," one newbie said.
"We would walk down this road here, come over here, walk up the stairs, come across the dam," a longtime Clinton resident recalled. "And yes, we did come back in spring and it was just as cold as it is today."
