HANOVER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — We’re in the midst of summer, but pumpkin spice products have already made their way onto the shelves of local grocery stores.
Some of the products include Hershey’s pumpkin spice latte-flavored candy, or Pumpkin Spice Twinkies.
Starbucks isn’t introducing its famous Pumpkin Spice Latte until Aug. 26, but other fall flavors of ready-to-drink coffees and creamers are already available in stores.
“I wish we could have it all year long honestly,” said one shopper in Hanover.
Perhaps the Heat Advisory issued for most of the state through Wednesday has people pining for fall.
“It sets the fall mood,” said Christina from Norwell.
Lots of other local shoppers seemed to be on board with the early fall flavors in stores, but one shopper didn’t understand the hype.
“Honestly it doesn't taste that great, I don’t know what everyone’s talking about,” said Corrine from Braintree.
However shoppers feel, pumpkin spice products are money makers. Last year, Starbucks was projected to make $500 million on Pumpkin Spice Lattes alone, according to MarketWatch.
