QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A three-alarm fire tore through a three-story home and forced evacuations in the Houghs Neck neighborhood of Quincy Friday afternoon.
Quincy Fire responded to the scene on Winthrop Street around 3:30 p.m., and crews from Boston and Weymouth were responding. Quincy Police said the surrounding area was being evacuated.
One person was injured, with burns to their hands. Quincy Police said they were treated on scene and released.
"It was really quiet 'til about half an hour ago, and I was in my room and heard a whole bunch of fire trucks, which down in this neighborhood is unusual because it's pretty quiet," Patti, who lives nearby, told WBZ NewsRadio's Jim MacKay. "I looked out my bedroom window and saw the ladder out, and flames, and smoke. This is really horrible."
