QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Furnace Brook Golf Club in Quincy is set to open its newly renovated clubhouse Saturday.

Over the last three years, the 14-million-dollar renovation project not only spruced up the clubhouse but also added some new and innovative golf technology.

After the much needed TLC, there are now several different accents of wood in the clubhouse and “the archway definitely is a church kind of vibe,” Adam Ferreira, with G & R Construction team, told WBZ NewsRadio.

“You can hear the ‘woos’ and ‘ahhs’ of people walking in, so it’s pretty cool to see,” he said.

The golf club also added four new indoor-golf stimulators for year-round fun.

“Throughout the season in the winter when you can’t get out on the course, you can go downstairs [to] practice your game [and] have some fun down there,” Ferreira continued.

David Potter lives nearby and got a chance to test out the stimulators at the open house a few days ago.

“I’m going to stick with hiking and not golfing, but it seems like it’ll be fun for people,” he said.

The clubhouse officially opens to the public on Saturday.
