Fed-Up Quincy Resident Calls Attention To Road Issues—With Spray Paint

QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A resident fed up with the state of repair of a Quincy street left a bright, fluorescent pink message for road workers.

Part of Brook Road in West Quincy was closed off Tuesday, as crews from National Grid fill in part of the asphalt.

The street, where Nat Grid performed some work over the summer, was left marred with seams, potholes, and sections much lower than the rest.

On one damaged section, workers were greeted with the message, "FIX THE STREET A**HOLES."

A worker on the street told WBZ NewsRadio's Madison Rogers his boss saw a photo of the graffiti online.

"This is how my boss found out about it, he found it on Facebook," he said. "It's gonna pour today, so he just asked me if I could run over here and fix the asphalt."

But an auto repairman near the scene said it was part of a much bigger problem.

"I spend I don't know how much every year rebuilding the front end of my truck," he said. "Keep taking the tax money, keep cramming the traffic. You can't even get through this city now. And look at the roads, they're horrible."

Though some Reddit commenters said they felt things like graffiti might be the quickest way to get roads repaired, National Grid says they should just call next time.
