BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — April showers may bring May flowers, but the May showers won't let you sit outside to smell them.
As Bostonians slowly start putting away their winter layers to prepare for spring, Mother Nature continues to send not-so-gentle reminders to keep raincoats and umbrellas on hand.
While the temperature has provided a reprieve from the cold, the rain has dampened the last seven of eight weekends, destroying all hope for outdoor activities according to several locals.
"It's horrible. Cause if it rains, you're stuck inside and it's never the same. We got a pool; we want to hang out. It's not looking good."
With bike lane expansions, the arrival of stripers on Boston Harbor, and the discovery of City on the Hills Trail, residents have been itching to partake in all that the great outdoors has to offer.
"Missing out on the biking, fishing — really anything outdoors — hiking."
This weekend is no different. Thunderstorms and showers are expected to dominate most of Saturday and Sunday.
There may be hope for next weekend, but only time and a good weatherman (or woman) will tell.
