READING, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Reading Police Department is offering RAD Self-Defense classes for women next month. This is a self-defense system that focuses on teaching women quick, effective defenses to the most common attacks in domestic violence, sexual assaults, and street assaults, according to the RAD website.
More than 1,000 women have participated in the program since it began 25 years ago. The program has remained free thanks to donations and support from individuals and community groups. The classes will be taught in Reading over four nights from March 18, 21, 25, and 28.
