READING, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Reading Police say they're investigating after an 11-year-old girl reported being followed home from Joshua Eaton Elementary School Tuesday.
In a release, the department said the student noticed a man following her after she left the school around 3:15 p.m. She said he followed for about five to ten minutes, and did not make contact with her.
The man was described as white, about 40 years old, and around 5'8". He wore blue jeans and a blue jacket.
"This student did exactly the right thing by immediately informing a trusted adult after she noticed something out of the ordinary while on her walk home," Deputy Police Chief David Clark said in a release.
Police don't believe there is any danger to the community.
