BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — When the Red Hot Chili Peppers play Boston Calling next May, they'll hit the stage with the classic lineup from their hit albums "Californication" and "By The Way."
The band said over the weekend that they are parting ways with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, and that guitarist John Frusciante, who was with the band from 1989-93 and 1998-2010, is returning.
The group's bassist, Flea, made the announcement on Instagram on Sunday.
Boston Calling, running from May 22-24, will feature over 60 artists who will be announced in January. The Foo Fighters are also headlining.
