"I was down at spring training, there’s so much excitement around this team," Red Sox Chief Experience Officer Sarah McKenna told WBZ NewsRadio Wednesday. "They just seem like such a great bunch of guys that just love baseball, and I'm excited to get them back here so that we can just start playing games at Fenway, because Fenway is the best ballpark in America."

First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 p.m., but the Sox are encouraging fans to get to their seats by 1:30 p.m. for pregame ceremonies.

The ceremonies will start with the Boston Arts Academy's Treble Allstars performing the national anthem, punctuated by a fly-over from two fighter jets and a refueling plane.

The Sox will also welcome members of the 1975 team to mark the 50th anniversary of their American League Championship win. They will also honor Red Sox Hall of Famer Luis Tiant, who died last October at the age of 83.
