BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The last place Red Sox are playing out the string in what’s become another lost season.
For the fourth time in five seasons, and for the second consecutive year, the Red Sox have been knocked out of the playoff picture.
As the team was getting ready for its last home game of the season Wednesday, fans were asked outside Fenway for a few words on how to describe the 2023 season.
The operative word… “Terrible.”
There were a few positive thoughts. This fan thought one player in particular showed promise before suffering a season-ending injury. “I’ve been a Tristan Casas fan since day one,” she said.
But another said given the state of the team, he was hard pressed to come up with any positives. “They are below 500 for the first time in, I don’t know the statistics, but …. terrible.”
The Red Sox finish the 2023 season with four games on the road in Baltimore.
