BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Our very own poet, reporter Carl Stevens, wrote this poem in honor of the Boston Red Sox home opener Tuesday:

Like wounded gladiators returning to Rome,

The World Series champs are coming home.

Will they say goodbye to a recent bout of sorrow?

Well, if it doesn't rain, we'll find out tomorrow,

Where at Fenway Park, they have hot dogs to sell,

Will the Sox start winning? Time will tell.
