BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley will represent members of the New England Congressional delegation on the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.

Pressley will now serve as the representative for Region 12. Pressley will succeed Massachusetts Congresswoman Lori Trahan, after Trahan was recently elected to serve as the Co-Chair of the Democratic Party and Communications Committee.

The Steering Policy Committee appoints members of the House Democratic Caucus to committee seats and helps to shape the party’s priorities.

“The New England delegation’s diversity of lived experiences, ideological views, and policy priorities are our strength, and I look forward to uplifting our collective voices and ensuring our region is strongly represented at every decision-making table,” said Congresswoman Pressley.

“Congresswoman Pressley is the perfect person to fill this role on the Steering and Policy Committee to ensure members of the New England Delegation continue to serve on committees that are key to delivering for the unique needs of our constituents,” said Trahan.
