SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Springfield may be a city of love compared to other American metropolises, says a study from city researchers at Sperling's Best Places.
The study, researchers say, is based on criteria that includes "the percentage of singles aged 18-24, population density, and dating venues per capita such as concerts, coffee shops, bars, and bowling alleys," spanning 80 cities in the United States.
Sperling's Best Places says the following are the top ten best dating cities in America:
- Austin, TX
- Colorado Springs, CO
- San Diego, CA
- Raleigh/Durham, NC
- Seattle, WA
- Charleston, SC
- Norfolk, VA
- Ann Arbor, MI
- Springfield, MA
- Honolulu, HI

Study officials say that Springfield ranks number nine in the list because it scores high in categories like percentage of singles, health clubs per capita, and bars per capita in the area.
