BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Many people were out on the streets of East Boston on Sunday, enjoying the last Open Streets Boston weekend of the year.
Geneva Davis an artist located in Roxbury was there for the first time. Davis lost more than 20 years’ worth of artwork in a house fire and saw this as an opportunity to show off some of her new work.
“I have a social media following, but it’s better to sit here in person because you’re not going to understand what’s going on in the painting unless you look at it and see how you feel about it for yourself,” said Davis.
Colin, who lives in the neighborhood, said he was sad to see Open Streets Boston end and wished it could be an every-week kind of thing.
“It’s really nice that we’re doing something like this in the neighborhood,” said Colin. “We go down to some of the other ones in Newbury and whatnot, but we walked down the hill [and] here we are.”
