BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Thursday morning featured a rough morning commute as a powerful nor'easter was pounding the region.
A mix of rain, sleet and snow fell on the area, creating lots of slush and pooling water on the roadways.
A high tide at around 8:30 a.m. in the Boston area combined with torrential rain and wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour brought flooding concerns to many coastal parts and tens of thousands of power outages throughout New England.
But despite the stormy weather, people were going about their business, like this guy in the downtown area who said walking his dog earlier was an adventure. "When I took Marlo out for his morning 'you know what,' it was really windy, it was horrible. But as a Vermonter I'm tough so I can handle this."
Another guy out and about today along the waterfront was asked what he thought about this big April storm. "It's got to be expected.... this is New England," he said.
