REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Revere Beach’s iconic Sand Sculpting Festival returns Friday.
Every year, the festival attracts visitors from all around the world, and from around the corner.
“I’m amazed! I can’t believe what they can do with sand,” said Tommy, a Revere resident.
Crowds are expected to be even larger this year as the festival will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
“It had grown… over the last decade. I can remember when they didn’t shut it all down and have Ferris wheels,” Tommy added.
The Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival is the largest free event in Massachusetts.
“It’s hard to pick which one to win, each one is better than the next.” said Robin of Chelsea.
The sand sculptures aren’t the only thing you’ll be able to admire at Revere Beach over the weekend. There will also be a fireworks show Saturday night, plus food vendors and amusement rides all weekend.
Public transportation is encouraged this weekend. The festival runs until 8 pm this Sunday.
