Revere Man Dies In Crash After Allegedly Refusing To Stop For Police

SHARON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One man has died and another man is suffering life-threatening injuries from a single-car crash, after they allegedly refused to stop for Massachusetts State Police.

According to MSP, shorty after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Route 95 northbound in Sharon, but the vehicle refused to stop and fled "at a very high rate of speed." The Trooper was authorized to pursue the vehicle.

Moments later, MSP said the driver, still traveling at a very high rate of speed, crashed in the area of Exit 11 in Norwood. The Trooper immediately requested EMS and the fire department to respond.

"The suspect vehicle was occupied by two young adults, both males," said State Police. "The occupant believed to be the operator was a 22-year-old male from Revere, who was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The occupant believed to be the vehicle’s passenger, a 20-year-old male from Revere, was transported to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries."

MSP said no other vehicles were involved, and authorities are still investigating the crash.

UPDATE: MSP has identified the driver who sustained fatal injuries in the crash as Wildan Tmusic, 22, of Revere.
