PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WBZ NewsRadio) — How strong is your password security? If you live in the Ocean State, it is second to none, according to a recent nationwide study.

According to data collected by casino.org, Rhode Island scored a perfect 100-out-of-100, ranking it first in the nation.

The study compared people's password character length, the number of reused passwords, whether a person uses a password manager, and how often a person updates old passwords.

Only 12.5% of Rhode Island respondents reuse passwords for multiple accounts, while around half of the state's residents use auto-generated passwords.

Rounding out the top five were Louisiana (83.62), Maine (59.82), Maryland (46.57), and New Mexico (46.03).

Massachusetts scored 33.83.

Wisconsin finished last in the country with a score of zero.
