BOSTON (WBZ News Radio) - Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo was confirmed as the next secretary of commerce, as the Senate voted on her nomination Tuesday.

The final vote was 84 in favor, 15 against.

Raimondo was the 75th governor of Rhode Island and its first female governor. She had served in the governor's post since 2015.
