Rockland Boy Recovering After Falling From Ski Lift At Blue Hills

CANTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A seven-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after falling over 30-feet off a ski lift in Canton.

The boy is from Rockland and his injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening. He was on the ski lift at Blue Hills when he fell off, late Monday afternoon.

The boy landed on rough terrain but fortunately was reportedly wearing a helmet.

Ski patrol responded after a witness reported what happened.

They transported him to the parking lot where he was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital.

How the boy fell off the lift is under investigation and it is unknown if the safety bar was down at the time of the incident.
