BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As more Massachusetts residents get vaccinated and in-person events resume -- one local poetry festival still took the hybrid approach this year.
The Roxbury Poetry Festival held it's biennial event on Saturday featuring a wide variety of writers from the Greater Boston area.

Opening the virtual portion of the day-long event was Chen Chen -- a local poet who grew up in Newton.
Chen's portion was called "Elegy in a Time of Pandemic" -- featuring an online workshop centered on people's experiences over the last year.
More online panels and readings took place until 5 p.m. -- when festival attendees gathered for an in-person poetry slam/rap concert in Nubian Square.
