SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Harvard alumnus has been reunited with his long lost football championship ring.
Salem resident Walter Herbert lost the ring four years ago in a public restroom and never expected to get it back.

Herbert recently got an email from a stranger named Michael Sadowski, who found the ring being sold online by a man named Guy Fitchburg. When it was discovered that Fitchburg had a criminal history, the police got involved.
"We discussed several different options, including them going to get it," said Herbert.
Police wound up going to Fitchburg's house, retrieving the ring, and returning it to Herbert, who gave Michael money for his help.
"He didn't want any remuneration," Herbert said. "I explained to him if you don't want any, that's fine, but you need to take it because it's gonna make me feel good."
