SALISBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Salisbury Police are searching for a suspect involved in a home burglary that occurred early Tuesday morning on Atlantic Avenue.

Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:20 a.m. after a homeowner was awoken by a suspicious noise inside their residence.

The homeowner discovered the intruder, who had entered through an unlocked front window.

The burglar is described as a thin white male, tight crewcut hair style, 5'8"-6'0" in height, wearing red shorts, and carrying a flashlight. He was last seen running northbound on the beach under the Blue Ocean Music Hall.

Salisbury Police are asking residents to review their home security systems between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. to see if any footage of the suspect is available.

"We will be vigilant in identifying and holding this person accountable for their actions," Salisbury Police Chief Thomas W. Fowler said in a statement. "I hope someone saw something or has video that can assist us to this end. I will be directing extra patrols to the beach area for the next few weeks. I ask the public to please report suspicious activity."
