BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating a salmonella outbreak that includes seven sick people in Massachusetts.
The CDC said at least 127 people have gotten sick across 25 states, with 18 hospitalizations being reported. More illnesses can be expected to occur as people get tested for symptoms.
“A specific food item has not yet been identified as the source of this fast-growing outbreak,” the organization said. “If you have symptoms of a Salmonella infection, talk to your healthcare provider and report your illness to your health department to help investigators solve this outbreak.”
Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea, high fever, vomiting, and signs of dehydration.
