It’s called “Dalí: Disruption and Devotion,” and it’s “the first-ever exhibition about Salvador Dalí to be held at the MFA Boston,” she shared.

“In this exhibition, we’re juxtaposing Dalí’s surrealist works with examples from the MFA’s permanent collection of European paintings and works on paper.”

The choice to display Dalí’s works in dialogue with others’ allows visitors to “experience a unique take on one of the most celebrated avant-garde artists of the 20th century," explained the MFA.

The exhibit showcases around 30 works by the Surrealist artist, including “Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory,” a famous Dalí work that recreates his most well-known piece, “The Persistence of Memory.”

The works are on loan from the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Welch explained why Dalí’s work still impacts so many people all these decades later.

“I think Dalí resonates with people so deeply because he makes us think about the world around us in a different way,” said Welch.

“You’re driving in the car down the street and you see something that catches your eye, you can start to think about these images that you see in your daily life through a new lens.”

"Dalí: Disruption and Devotion" opens on Saturday, July 6, and runs through Dec. 1.
