QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Santa Claus ditched his sleigh for a chopper during a visit to Quincy Saturday.

Jolly Old Saint Nick arrived via helicopter to meet dozens of excited kids at Pageant Field.

"It was amazing. It was beautiful. Beautiful," nine-year-old JC told WBZ NewsRadio.

Jack showed up with his younger cousins, who like many other children went crazy when Santa landed.

"One of them was on my mom’s shoulders and she told me she could feel him shaking with excitement," Jack said. "So yeah, it just makes me really happy to know that they’re having a good time."

A few kids got into an argument over what was more exciting: Santa Claus or the helicopter.

"Why the helicopter?" questioned one youngster. "It's ugly. It's not even Christmas-themed."

Thankfully, seven-year-old Araya brought back the Christmas spirit when WBZ NewsRadio asked her what she wanted this year.

"Money to give to the homeless," Araya answered.
