WATCH: Scituate Police Bet Kid He Can't Make Half-Court Shot—He Does

SCITUATE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Scituate Police officers got quite the surprise when they made a friendly wager with a group of kids playing basketball a bit too late Monday night.

After a resident who lived near the basketball court complained about the group being loud around 11:30 p.m., officers made a deal with the kids—if one of them could sink a shot from half court, and keep the noise level down, the officers would let the kids finish their game before they had to clear out.

In a video posted to the department's Facebook page Tuesday, you can watch the crowd, as well as Officers Lindsay Bonnano and Drew Kitchen, go wild when the kid makes the shot!

"Amazingly, this kid sank the shot and the Officers kept their promise," the department wrote in the post. "Good compromise all around!"
