BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A scorpion stung a woman while she was retrieving luggage at Boston Logan International Airport Sunday night, according to Massachusetts State Police.
State police said the 40-year-old woman was getting her luggage from the baggage claim area of customs at around 7:30 p.m. when she was stung.

Boston EMS responded and took the woman to the hospital. Her current condition is unknown.
Officials did not say where the scorpion came from, the species of scorpion, or where the woman was stung.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says scorpions can be found on every continent except Antarctica, but are commonly found in tropical and subtropical environments.
The agency says most scorpion stings are not serious, but often cause intense pain and redness, and the venom from some species can cause severe illness and in rare cases death.
