Search For Hit And Run Driver In Methuen

METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The search is on for a hit and run driver who struck and killed a man Monday night in Methuen.

The victim, a 57-year-old man, was apparently crossing the street in front of his home on Jackson Street, between Ranger Rd and Pleasant Valley Street, when he was struck.

Methuen police say he was trying to meet with a tow truck driver parked across from his home.

Investigators are now reaching out to the neighborhood asking anyone with home security video that may show the collision to come forward and share that footage with them.

A white sedan with heavy front end damage to it's hood and windshield was found parked at a nearby home. Methuen Police say they seized the car as part of the ongoing investigation.

Methuen Police patrol and their criminal investigations bureau are working to identify who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
