Search For Suspects In UMASS Amherst Assault

AMHERST, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — UMass Police are asking for the public's help in identifying three men suspected of an on-campus assault that left a man with serious head-injuries.

The attacked happened around 5 p.m. on Oct. 26, on Homecoming Weekend, in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Sunset Street. The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries while witnesses told police 3 college-age men were involved in the assault. Police did not say whether the victim was a UMass student.

Investigators released a photo of the main aggressor, described as a white man in a gray, plaid flannel shirt, blue jeans and a dark-colored Cerhartt winter hat.
