SEEKONK, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It's almost off to the races at the Seekonk Speedway, as NASCAR Flex Tickets are on sale for the seasonal reopening of the track.

WBZ's Kim Tunnicliffe went to the tracks, watching several race drivers' whizz by on test drives.

"Once you start racing it's just in your blood, you want to keep coming back for more. My dad started racing at a young age, he got into a bad accident and I was like 'it's my turn.' I just follow in his footsteps," said 23-year-old late model racer Chase Belcher.

The Speedway's Business Development Director Ed St. Germain says this is the 76th year in business for the track.

"Another year of excitement, every year in spring I have other 250 competitors, all with hopes of a championship, we have nine different divisions," Germain said.

Seekonk Speedway also has five thrill shows throughout the season that include demolition derbies, backwards races, crazy eight races, and the Great American trailer race.
