Senior Stoughton Resident Dies In Early Morning Fire

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Stoughton resident has died after being pulled from an early morning fire on Saturday.

The Stoughton Fire Department said they responded to the fire on Grove Street at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday -- and found a 93-year-old woman in a bedroom on the second floor.

Firefighters began performing CPR on scene and the woman was transported to a local hospital -- where she later died.

Officials said there were several people inside the multi-family home when the blaze began, including residents and visitors.

No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
