BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new shop in Brighton is taking its customers back to their Saturday morning childhoods tucking into a bowl of their favorite cereal while watching cartoons.

'Day and Night Cereal Bar' is a retro, dessert-themed nostalgia factory in Oak Square that features a cereal bar and sugary snacks focusing on milk, cereals, candy, and ice cream.

Store owner Louis Elveus, a Boston native, said his shop is based on his childhood memories. "It takes me back to watching cartoons with my Frosted Flakes," he said.

'Day and Night' is a franchise based on a California food truck serving up a similar vibe.

Elveus said his shop, which features a 'bring-your-own-bowl' option, is much more than just a business, but a creative journey as well.
