BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Severe weather caused many flights across the country to be cancelled on Sunday, including many at Logan Airport.
Flights going to or from Logan were among the most affected nationwide by severe weather conditions.
According to Flight Aware, there were 122 cancellations at Logan and 428 delays on Sunday.
WBZ NewsRadio spoke with travelers at Logan who had to deal with flight cancellations and delays because of the inclement weather and short staffing on flights.
“We were supposed to leave at like, 7:40 [p.m.], and then hour-by-hour, it was like ten minutes before we were supposed to leave and then they delayed it again so, this is egregious, especially since it’s so late,” said one traveler.
“It was just tiring, you know people were asleep on the floors [of the airport], I’m so happy we’re home,” said another.

In her overseas trip home, Trixy from Dorchester was most affected by missing flight crews from other flight connections delayed by bad weather.
“[My flight] from Manila [Philippines] was 16 hours [with a connection in South Korea], and then I was stuck in Minneapolis for the five or six-hour delay,” she said.
For honeymooners Kayla and Hunter Mears of Vermont, getting home from Alaska was a 22-hour ordeal.
“This is [Hunter’s] first time flying [and] ever leaving New England so, I feel so bad that this is kind of how it was coming home!” Kayla said.
Over one thousand flights were cancelled on Sunday, with Logan, along with Laguardia and JFK airports in New York most affected by the severe weather conditions.
